We are back to share our secrets on getting our curls defined and big, and all around poppin’. Keep scrolling if you would like to check out more on what products we love!
So I start off in the shower shampooing and conditioning my hair! I alternate my conditioners between the three pictured below. Not in any specific order just which ever has more in it that day. To detangle my hair I use a detangling brush or a denman brush. For my shampoo, I happen to use anything but at the moment I am using the Quenching Coconut Curls
As for my conditioners, I have used the Aussie Moist Conditioner for years!
I also love these two by OGX, They both smell amazing and have my curls looking shiny and healthy!
Now after I get out the shower I use a microfiber hair towel or a cotton t-shirt to dry my hair. I normally apply these two products on my hair, the Curls Blueberry Bliss and also the Miss Jessie’s Pillow Soft Curls when my hair is still wet. Then use the shirt or towel to dry my hair or if i’m not in a rush i’ll let it air dry. Both of these products are my faves and goto! My hair is never crunchy, always soft and fluffy lol.
Lastly, I have to lay my edges, baby hairs whatever you want to call them! I use a handy dandy toothbrush and the Ecostyler gel in Argan Oil. Huntyyyyy my edges be on point!!
Now that you know the products I use here our some more tips/secrets I do to my hair. So first off, this might sound gross butttttt, I do not wash my hair regularly, being that if you constantly wash your hair it dries it out. Once a week works for some people, but for me I wash it once I feel that it is dirty and getting too itchy to where I cant handle it. This helps my hair grow quickly. Now when I say wash, i mean full on shampoo and conditioner. But typically if I want to wear my hair down, I will wet my hair in the shower and use conditioner to comb it out. Typically this is called a co-wash, so i co-wash pretty often when I need my hair to look poppin’. Not shampooing so often helps my hair keep in moisture. I have dyed my hair multiple times, like more than someone should on their own and still have had my hair down to my butt, I also do not cut my hair as often as I should. But then again these are things that work for me! So don’t hold it against me lol. Here are some recent selfies of my curls and color!
Ok so let’s start off with Shampoo and conditioner. I don’t have a specific one that I always use but normally I use something from OGX or Shea Moisture. So here are the two shampoos/conditioners that I currently have (OGX teatree mint & Shea Moisture African water mint and ginger). I also use Neutrogena T-Gel shampoo for dandruff. I normally wash my hair once or twice a week depending on I feel. If I really want my hair to look nice then I’m definitely gonna wash it because I feel like my hair looks best when I do a wash n’ go. So here are my tipis for washing my hair … I always try to finger comb through my hair when I first get in the shower and while shampooing it also I comb out my hair once I put the conditioner in. When I get out the shower I always use a microfiber towel on my hair or a t-shirt if I can’t find my towels lol.
Ok so now when I get out the shower it’s time to style my hair. I have three go to products. If I need my hair to look on point and poppin then I go straight for my Curls hair product. Another go to of mine is the leave in conditioner by As I Am, I use this product on more chill days. Lastly I use Eco-Styler gel to lay my edges, right now I have the argon oil one but I also like the coconut oil one.
Here are some pics of how my wash n’ go comes out!
If I want to preserve my hair for the next day then I will usually put my hair in a pineapple and wear my bonnet. The next day I spray my hair with some water and restyle it again.
